Paddlers Rendezvous in North Florida
October 2012 - fun, friends and paddling on spring-fed creeks and forested rivers
The Apalachee Canoe & Kayak Club (ACKC) is proud to be the host for the 2012 Florida Paddlers Rendezvous - an annual gathering of kayakers and canoers looking to share in trips, fellowship, and general good fun.
The information below is from the 2011 Padler's Rendezvous in Titusville, hosted by the Space Coast Paddlers. As the ACKC finalizes plans, we will be posting our info. Our plans so far are that we will have a variety of camping accomodations at the Arrowhead Campground in Marianna. We will be heading out for trips on the Chipola River, on Holmes Creek, on the broad and fast-slowing Apalachicola River, on the mysterious Ocheesee Pond, and on Spring Creek.
So hold on -- more information is coming soon. Repack your dry bag, check your route to Marianna and get ready for the 2012 Paddler's Rendezvous!
I need a place to stay.
Where?
Our base camp in 2011 will be the Arrowhead Campground In Marianna, Florida. It's right next to US Highway 90, on the west side of Merritt's Millpond.
What else besides paddling?
We're already planning other activities, including visits to the Florida Caverns State Park. This park has a tour through a convoluted cave beneath the hills of Jackson County!
