October 21-24, 2010
Florida Paddlers' Rendezvous is an annual gathering of canoe and kayak clubs. Sponsored in 2010 by the Florida Sport Paddling Club.
From a base camp at Silver River State Park, we will paddle north central Florida's finest waterways. Come for one day or more. The main event will take place Friday-Sunday, October 22-24, 2010. Pre-Rendezvous paddles will be held Thursday, October 21, for those who want to paddle before check-in. Check-in begins Thursday afternoon at Silver River SP campground.
Cost is a nominal $3.50 per person for USCA event insurance. Otherwise, just pay your camping or lodging fees and any launch or parking fees for your paddle trips. There is a daily park entrance fee if you are not staying at the state park (bring your annual state park pass for a discount).
You are also welcome to join the many base camp activities. The more, the merrier! Please join Saturday’s potluck supper and/or bring firewood for the nightly campfires; you may also bring paddle-related items for the swap-shop. When visiting the park after-hours for our evening activities, check with the ranger at the entrance station.
